Markets We Serve
Human Nutrition
At Vidara we can offer a wide range of coloring materials for the food industry.
Our Food Coloring includes food plant extracts (black carrot, spirulina, etc.), natural sourced colorants (E code: e.g. E141 Chlorophyl and Beta Carotene E160a 3i), synthetic dyes (such as E102 Tartrazine and E124 Ponceau 4R). Most of the synthetic food colorings are also available in the form of aluminum lakes (insoluble powders).
Additionally, we offer a selection of Food Pigments. These insoluble coloring agents are used primarily for coloring fatty foods or dry powder mixtures. Our synthetic food pigments (from mineral or vegetal origin likeIronOxideE172,VegetalCarbonE153)) comply with the specifications for food additives established by EU Regulation No. 231/212 of 9/3/2012.
Care
For the Personal Care and Cosmetics industry our natural and synthetic colorants are soluble in water or oil.
Our range of organic dyes are available in powder form and of high purity used for the applications e.g. shower gels, shampoos, creams, massage oils and lotions. Additionally in our portfolio we have naturally derived dyes specially developed for coloring soaps available in powder or dispersion form and lake.
In the Home Care industry our portfolio includes optical brightener and pyracide yellow for the application of detergents, home fragrance and candles.
Industrial
Water Treatment (Hydrological tracers)
In the Hydrology market we offer a wide range of tracers.
These tracers are used in 95% of cases for detecting leaks in pipes (wastewater/rainwater), tracing watercourses, marine currents and for leak testing in for example roofs, terraces, swimming pools.
For studies on drinking water networks, we also offer synthetic food colorings (e.g. E124, E102, E133) in the form of water-soluble or non-fluorescent powders.
Our range of tracers include:
- Fluorescent water-soluble dyes, such as fluorescein, eosin, sulphorhodamine.
- Optical brighteners, which are colorless in daylight and only visible under UV light (blue-violet fluorescence), such as amino acid G, sodium naphthionate, and the optical brightener CBS-X.
- Tracer tablets: easy to use and clean, they are ideal for coloring small volumes of water.

- UV-visible spectrometer Lambda 365 – Determination of the dye quantity in solution. Measurement range is 190-1100 nm.
- pHmeter - SevenEasy - pH measurement.
- Brookfield DV1 Viscometer - Low viscosity measurement. The viscosity measurement range is: 100 cP to 2 million cP, 18 speeds.
- Moisture Analyzer – OHAUS – MB90 - Measurement of the dry extract.
- Refractometer - Refractive index measurement.
- Disc mill - Type 2000 - Grinding of pigments in small quantities (1-2 gr approx.).
- Automatic film applicator with vacuum table and pump – Paint/varnish application on contrast cards.
- Motor with dissolver disc Basket mill - Preparation of pigment concentrates (1-2 L).
